Our beautiful holiday home offers a great base to explore the many attractions and places the The Isle of Wight has to offer.  Given the plentiful supply of attractions you will want to visit time and time again.  Listed below are just a few of the wonderful attractions, activities and places to visit whilst on the Island.

Luccombe Chine and Beach

BEACHES

Shanklin Beach is a very popular destination due to its stretches of golden sands and seafront promenade - ensuring that you are never too far away from cafes, pubs and beach shops selling a variety of beach essentials from inflatables, wetsuits, newspapers and refreshing ice creams.

Along the promenade you will also find all the traditional seaside attractions; crazy golf, amusement arcade, mini go karts and soft play area.

Elsewhere on the island there are plenty of other beaches to enjoy.  With the island’s varied coastline you will find coves, sandy beaches, rock pools and magnificent cliffs offering coastal walks showcasing stunning views and spectacular sunsets.  You might also like to take a short drive from Shanklin to Sandown Bay which won the ‘Beach of the Year’ prize in the BBC Countryfile Magazine Awards 2019.  If you fancy heading somewhere smaller, you could visit the picturesque Colwell Bay and have a walk along the seafront to Totland Bay stopping at one of the shore side cafes on the way.

FUN FILLED DAYS

Needles Landmark, Blackgang Chine,

The Robin Hill Country Park, Godshill Model Village & Tapnell Farm Park to name but a few fun filled places to visit.

The Islands famous Needles Landmark at Totland offers a host of exciting attractions from making your own coloured sand souvenir, watching glass blowing, having a ride on the Tea Cups to stunning views and an exciting chairlift ride taking you to see the needles rocks and coloured sands.  This is certainly a destination not to be missed.

Blackgang Chine is set on the cliff tops of Chale and is filled with a wide variety of attractions, exciting rides and outstanding sea views – you’ll find something for all the family and will have an unforgettable day out.

The Robin Hill Country Park at Newport offers an amazing mix of fun rides, adventure play, falconry, relaxing walks and woodland gardens set in 88 acres of delightful countryside.  There is a wealth of activities here which is sure to make some magical memories for the young and young at heart. 

The Model Village in Godshill is set in the grounds of the Old Vicarage and is a timeless place to spend a few hours escaping the busy world outside.

Tapnell Farm Park is the newest family attraction on the Island located near to Yarmouth and is surrounded by amazing views over the Solent.  There is a Wallaby Walkabout, Play Barn with soft play zone, Outdoor Play area with funtastic jumping pillows, Farmyard Barn where you can encounter animals an Adventure Barn and café.  You can also splash, slide and laugh your way round the Isle of Wight’s only outdoor Aqua Park!

At this versatile attraction you will find a wide range of activities to keep the whole family entertained.

THE GREAT OUTDOORS

The Isle of Wight is the perfect destination for walkers.  Thousands of walkers visit the Island to explore the long picturesque coastal paths and the plentiful choice of footpaths and woodland trails.  It doesn’t matter if you’re after a relaxing short stroll or more challenging route, the Isle of Wight is the place to come and has something for all abilities. 

Cyclists who fancy a ride across varied terrain and landscapes also visit the Island to experience some of the 200 miles of cycle routes and roads around the Island.  Cycling is a fun and healthy way to explore the beautiful countryside and there is a cycle path to suit everyone, so why not give it a go!
